I love coin-op vending machines.
They’re the center of a Venn diagram of a few of my favorite things: miniatures, satisfying tactile experiences, and questionable snack foods.
I got my hands on a vending machine of my own, and filled it with art inspired by some vending machine favorites: temporary tattoos, a selection of drinks and snacks (in the form of limited-edition mini screenprints), and die-cut stickers. Stock is swapped out seasonally, and as the machine empties, new collections of mini-prints are released.
ArtSnax
ArtSnax 1 is a 4-color, limited-edition screen print, designed to be cut into nine 3x4” mini-prints. Working this way allows me to sell original, handmade art for less than the price of a combo meal, which brings me a lot of joy.
Each mini is packaged in a chipboard folder, stamped with a hand-carved block, which protects them (and adds a little mystique) during their vending journey.
Temporary Tattoos
I had a blast making digital illustrations mixing classic tattoo themes with motifs from my own work.
“Hail Santa” is by far my best-selling greeting card, so I had to turn it into a temporary tattoo for Santa’s most badass little helpers.
